Benjamin Freeman

Benjamin Freeman is an associate in Proskauer’s Sports Group. He represents sports leagues including the National Basketball Association and National Hockey League in their various corporate matters, particularly on team ownership transfers, and he has advised on the acquisition and sale of teams including the sale of the Carolina Panthers. He also has worked on a variety of matters in the media and sports betting sectors, including representing The Stars Group in the formation of a media and sports wagering partnership in the U.S. with FOX Sports.

Benjamin Freeman earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where he served as co-president of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society and special projects editor of the Duke Law & Technology Review. While at Duke, he worked as a legal department intern in Major League Baseball’s Office of the Commissioner.

Prior to law school, Benjamin worked as a business analyst at Sports Media Advisors, where he worked on a variety of matters in the sports, television and digital media industries.
