Samuel M. Mirkin is a special funds counsel in the Corporate Department and a member of the Private Funds Group. Sam has a general corporate practice with an emphasis on representing U.S. and non-U.S. sponsors in private equity fund formations and investments. He also represents institutional investors with respect to investments in U.S. and non-U.S. private investment and hedge funds.
Prior to joining Proskauer, Sam practiced at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, where he focused on legal aspects of the domestic and international private investment funds industry, representing banks, collateral managers and hedge funds in all aspects of secondary market debt trading and providing regulatory counsel to investment managers and broker-dealers.
In earning an LL.M. in banking and financial law from the Boston University School of Law, Sam received the Dennis K. Aronowitz Award as the graduate with the highest grade point average.
